Cynthia Infante is a two-time kidney transplant recipient. She was born in 1972 in Arizona and has lived there ever since. She was first diagnosed with kidney disease at the age of 15 and at the age of 19 she was placed on hemodialysis.
While on dialysis, she remembers sitting for three to four hours doing homework. She was placed on the transplant list and in 1995 at the age of 23. She received her first non-living donor kidney transplant. In 1997 she graduated college with her degree in Respiratory care and began working at a local hospital.
In the year 2000, she married the love of her life, Domingo. In 2001 she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl which she named Hailey.
Her first kidney transplant lasted 20 years and in July 2016, she received her second living donor transplant that was generously donated to her by her loving cousin, Jacob.
Cynthia has experienced kidney disease as a young teen and as an adult. She has experienced both living and non-living donor transplants. All of these experiences have encouraged her to want to help others understand how to cope with their disease. Cynthia has a very positive outlook on life and has been a patient mentor at Banner university, she wants to help others understand that they can still have a great quality of life and not to give up on hope. While she is very involved in helping others she is also very family oriented and loves to vacation. One of her favorite things to do while on vacation is to bike ride along the coast of Southern California. Her goal in life is to help others be happy, healthy and love life as she does.
