On March 31, 2017, President Donald J. Trump released a statement proclaiming April as National Donate Life Month. This month was first proclaimed in 2003 by President George W. Bush.
This month, Power2Save will be honoring organ donors, recipients, and those who advocate in several ways – including featuring several stories from those who have made a difference.
One of the primary focus points of Donate Life Month is to promote organ donation. At Power2Save, we also aim to highlight the need for transplant research so that one transplant for life can be a reality. The harsh truth about organ transplants is that 50% of all transplants will experience failure within five to ten years, resulting in many organ recipients requiring more than one transplant in their lifetime.
Celebrate National Life Month by supporting transplant research today. If this inspires you, consider starting your own fundraiser.
